Now on to superficial musings...

I'm like a kid on Christmas morning, having just received a fabulously generous package from my aunt....a wonderful encourager and cheerleader for physical and spiritual wellness. Since I'm the world's biggest skeptic...I'm so thankful she's gone out of her way to let me try some new things.

She's been a loyal proponent of Manntech products for several years now. I've been hesitant to add yet another supplement to my regime because of cost, etc....so she was kind enough to send me some Advanced Ambertose. It's a glyconutritional supplement that's supposed to help your cells talk...apparently mine don't communicate so well. : )

Not only that...I have an awesome new toy to play with....a galvanic spa as of two weeks ago and the skin care kit to go with it today. I've had terrible skin for as long as I can remember. This system claims to be better than botox and facelifts, which at my age, is the least of my concerns...but I'm already impressed with how the overall texture and look has improved. What girl doesn't love new skin care products?

In addition to all this...I also received some Glutino breakfast bars...chocolate and wildberry. I love their Flax bread and am excited for any easy on-the-go snack.

Yeah for Christmas in April!

Musings for the soul after the eggs have been dyed and chocolate has been devoured...

"The resurrection is not merely a doctrine to be affirmed intellectually; it is the resounding affirmation that Jesus reigns over all, and the power that raised him from the dead is the Christian's power for living the Christian life on earth and the assurance of eternal life in heaven."-ESV Study Bible, pg. 2526

"So long as a man does not serve God with body, soul, and spirit, he is not really alive. So long as he puts the first things last and the last first, buries his talent like an unprofitable servant, and brings the Lord no revenue of honor, so long in God's sight he is dead. He is not filling the place in creation for which he was intended; he is not using his powers and faculties as God meant them to be used. The poet's words are strictly true—"He only lives, who lives to God, And all are dead beside."This is the true explanation of sin not felt, and sermons not believed—and good advice not followed—and the Gospel not embraced—and the world not forsaken—and the cross not taken up—and self-will not mortified—and evil habits not laid aside—and the Bible seldom read—and the knee never bent in prayer. Why is all this on every side. The answer is simple—Men are dead!" JC Ryle, Old Paths

But a whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of d knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith—that I may know him and the power of his resurrection Phil 3:7-10

Adorn: to lend beauty to

In Ode on a Grecian Urn, John Keats states, "Beauty is truth, truth beauty."  While I do not espouse to Mr. Keat's philosophies...I find this statement very profound.

The intention of this blog is to focus on adornment of the body, soul, and spirit....sometimes superficial musings of  wellness, fashion, health....yet, sometimes deep theological meditations on the only perfectly beautiful and perfectly true thing....the Gospel.

So today...this resurrection Sunday...I begin with the most beautiful words I have ever heard.

  • Jesus declared, "I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. " John 3:3

My heart is that you see this adornment not as a process of self-improvement, but one of self-wreckage...as I aim to continually adorn the bride of Christ and conform to the likeness of His image by His Spirit.

Enjoy.
